VERSACE MAKES A MARK
Kim Kardashian was one of the lucky attendees of the Met Gala to be dressed by Versace. Not only did the Italian house create looks for 15 guests like Katy Perry, Gigi Hadid, Gisele, and Zendaya—but creative director Donatella Versace was one of the evening’s co-chairs with Rihanna and Amal Clooney. For the big event, Kardashian wore a liquid chainmail dress, perfectly sculpted to her hourglass physique with two cross embellishments. She was giving us a little Monica Bellucci as well with her super high ponytail and over-the-top lashes.

Following the annual fashion extravaganza at the Metropolitan Museum of Art, Kardashian headed back to her hotel and changed into yet another Versace look for Versace’s after-party at the Mark Hotel. Keeping the same hair and makeup, she slipped into a black Versace mini dress, channeling the head of the empire herself, Donatella. Back in 1993, Donatella was spotted in a similar look for a New York fashion party with her brother Gianni, the founder of Versace.

Much like Donatella’s look, Kardashian’s bondage-inspired dress featured a caged corset with bungee straps from the bra cups to neck with gold hardware and a tight skirt bandage mini skirt.

In fact, it seems Kim might have cherrypicked this look from the Versace archives, as it closely resembles a look worn by supermodel Helena Christensen on the Versace runway for the Fall 1992 collection in Milan.

Post-Met Gala, Kardashian was spotted hanging with the Queen of Versace herself, Donatella. The party gave Rihanna’s annual Met Gala after-party a run for its money, drawing in Katy Perry, Zoe Kravitz, Gigi Hadid, Madonna and a performance by Migos.
