When it comes to achingly hip hotels, the Ace and the Line are most definitely, on brand!  But perhaps the Line is edging forward a little further than our Portland raised friends.

Late last year the Line Hotel Washington DC announced itself with some pretty steller partnerships of DC foodie and boozy heavyweights. Then earlier this month came news of a radio station, to be based in the lobby and accessible online.

“Full Service Radio”, promises a mix of live and archive podcasts, with more to be announced in the coming weeks via the hotel’s website.  The “Line” up promises a heady mix of music, food, culture, art and design shows, with a focus on the DC community for guests and content.

To kick off, they enlisted the programming talents of Jack Inslee (Heritage Radio fame) in a curatorial role.  He promises, “to elevate and promote all of the incredible things happening in DC and to preserve the stories, sounds and voices that make this city what it is”, says the hotel’s FB page.  Sounds great Jack, can’t wait to hear more.

Launch show is all about sneaker heads (called Sole Mates), it's focused around sneaker culture and a rather fine interview with Brandon Elder (ex Complex Mag, Sneaker Writer!).  He talks about the Reebok “Iverson” and later, Chris Leach joins to professes about the classic Nike Jordan.

We are most looking forward to the culture broadcasts curated by Desiree Venn Frederic (pictured, founder of hip DC boutique Nomad Yard).  She has a fascinating background, plenty to say from what we read online and probably has a DC/NY contact book to die for. Super excited!
